Position: Operations Manager

An Operations Manager plays a crucial role to ensure that a business runs as smoothly as possible. They oversee all of the daily operations of the business and with their strong leadership and problem-solving skills, they can manage a team effectively. 

 

The role an Operations Manager undertakes varies depending on the size of a business and the organisation’s needs. They may be there to oversee quality control, manage inventory and even ensure that a production process is well-managed. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all operations are carried on in an appropriate, cost-effective way. 
  • Improve operational management systems, processes and best practices. 
  • Help the organisation’s processes remain legally compliant. 
  • Formulate strategic and operational objectives. 
  • Examine financial data and use them to improve profitability. 
  • Manage budgets and forecasts. 
  • Perform quality controls and monitor production KPIs. 
  • Recruit, train and supervise staff. 
  • Find ways to increase quality of customer service. 
  • Conducting research and analyses of operational effectiveness, processes, stakeholders, etc. 
  • Aligning departmental goals, processes and resource allocation with the organizational strategy. 
  • Assessing market trends and competitors. 
  • Identifying threats and opportunities. 
  • Presenting findings, projections and recommended actions. 
  • Planning, implementing and managing proposed recommendations and projects. 
  • Monitoring and reporting on projects. 
  • Supporting and guiding senior executive decision-making processes. 

Skills & Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in operations management, business administration, or related field.
