About the Role: As a Senior Business Development Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the sales cycle—from prospecting to closing deals. You’ll be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong client relationships, and providing tailored solutions for surplus equipment disposal across industries like earthmoving, mining, and transport.
We set you up for success! You’ll be provided with a warm book of leads and repeat clients while also having the autonomy to develop new business.
This role is ideal for someone who has experience in an Outside Sales BDM role with existing relationships in industrial sectors such as earthmoving, mining, transport, and construction.
What You Bring:
- A proven track record in business development & sales, with experience identifying, negotiating, and closing high-value deals.
- Market knowledge & existing relationships in industrial sectors such as earthmoving, mining, transport, and construction.
- Experience in auctions, earthmoving, or mining equipment sales (direct or indirect experience will be highly regarded).
- The ability to build relationships at all levels and translate client needs into tailored solutions.
- A flexible & adaptable mindset to thrive in a fast-paced, ever-evolving industry.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills to influence key decision-makers.
- A willingness to travel as needed (valid driver’s license required).
Key Responsibilities:
- Work through a mix of new business leads, warm prospects, and dormant accounts to maximize sales opportunities.
- Assess potential partners, perform competitive research, and develop compelling business cases.
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders, delivering exceptional customer service.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships within both local and national teams.
- Provide sales forecasts and performance reports to ensure targets, KPIs, and revenue goals are met.
- Use your negotiation & influencing skills to secure and close high-value deals.
- Develop and execute local sales strategies, proposals, and presentations.
