Position: Head of Sales
Primary purpose of the position:
A Head of Sales is a key leadership role within an organisation responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy Development
- Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends.
- Define sales targets and quotas in alignment with company goals.
Team Leadership and Management
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.
- Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
- Set clear expectations and performance metrics for the sales team.
Sales Planning and Forecasting
- Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and plans.
- Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
- Adjust strategies and tactics as necessary to achieve goals.
Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
- Work closely with key accounts and high-potential clients to understand their needs and preferences.
- Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure customer satisfaction.
Sales Process Optimisation
- Design and implement effective sales processes and workflows.
- Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to streamline the sales cycle.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with marketing, product development, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment and synergy.
- Provide insights and feedback to inform product and marketing strategies.
Market Analysis
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions.
- Use market intelligence to make informed decisions and adapt strategies accordingly.
Reporting and Analysis
- Prepare and present regular sales reports and updates to the executive team.
- Analyse sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (master’s preferred).
- Proven track record of successful sales leadership and achievement of revenue targets.
- Strong understanding of the industry and market dynamics.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and sales productivity tools
- Experience in sales, and experience in a leadership or management role.
