Position: Head of Sales

Primary purpose of the position:

A Head of Sales is a key leadership role within an organisation responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve revenue targets and drive business growth. 


Duties & Responsibilities:

Sales Strategy Development

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
  • Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and trends.
  • Define sales targets and quotas in alignment with company goals.

 

Team Leadership and Management

  • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship, and performance feedback to team members.
  • Set clear expectations and performance metrics for the sales team.

 

Sales Planning and Forecasting

  • Develop sales forecasts, budgets, and plans.
  • Monitor and analyse sales performance metrics to ensure targets are met or exceeded.
  • Adjust strategies and tactics as necessary to achieve goals.

 

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  • Work closely with key accounts and high-potential clients to understand their needs and preferences.
  • Resolve escalated customer issues and ensure customer satisfaction.

 

Sales Process Optimisation

  • Design and implement effective sales processes and workflows.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement solutions to streamline the sales cycle.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate with marketing, product development, operations, and other departments to ensure alignment and synergy.
  • Provide insights and feedback to inform product and marketing strategies.

 

Market Analysis

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitors, and market conditions.
  • Use market intelligence to make informed decisions and adapt strategies accordingly.

 

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and present regular sales reports and updates to the executive team.
  • Analyse sales data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.


Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales, Marketing, or related field (master’s preferred).
  • Proven track record of successful sales leadership and achievement of revenue targets.
  • Strong understanding of the industry and market dynamics.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales productivity tools
  • Experience in sales, and experience in a leadership or management role.
